Project 2A Production Shoot Video
For this project, we were split into two groups, Group A and Group B. Both groups would be tasked with replicating the trailers of two Netflix shows of differing genres. I was placed in Group B, where we were tasked with replicating the trailer of Beef

We were also tasked with choosing our respective roles in our groups for the shooting we would do next week. I had the role of Director for our group.

The shoot was a challenge because we didn't have much time to practice, and many people in the group were completely new to production. But overall it was a fun experience, and I managed to identify areas in which I could improve as a director, group mate and crew member.

We were then tasked to edit the footage we took to make it look like a movie/series trailer by including appropriate music, SFX, and colour grading.

Project 2B Production Shoot Video

For the second half of our Project 2, we were required to use our newfound colour grading skills to prepare a Tiktok/Instagram video according to a particular style, theme or trend. 

I decided to go with the Wes Anderson trend that went viral a few months ago (even though I've only ever watched two Wes Anderson films in my entire life) because it seemed really cute and fun. 

First, I went to Tiktok to get inspiration. While there were a ton of really cool videos, the ones that ended up being my favourite are these two:

Next, I drafted up my storyboard, which is available in this link:

After drafting out my storyboard, I proceeded to film myself in my room while struggling with the natural lighting (as a thunderstorm suddenly occurred out of the blue in my area). 


Next, I proceeded to cut and trim the footage in time with the beats from Obituary, one of the tracks from Wes Anderson's film The French Dispatch. Then I created the title slide at the start, as characteristic of the Wes Anderson trend on social media.

After completing the title slide, I proceeded with the colour grading.

Illustration and Visual Narrative - Project 1

 1st September 2023 - 10th October 2023 (Week 1 - Week 7) Asma' Binti Mohd Jailani / 0354335 / Bachelor of Mass Communication (Honours)  Illustration and Visual Narrative Task 1B / Vormator Challenge At the beginning of our semester, Mr Hafiz informed us about the Vormator Challenge that would make up part of our assessment. During our first class, we started off by tracing the Vormator Challenge shapes with the pen tool.  Figure 1.1: Vormator shape tracings (Week 2)  We were then told to come up with a monster/creature using these Vormator shapes, and to apply the Adobe Illustrator exercise techniques that we would be learning in the upcoming weeks, to our final Vormator creature.  Personally, I don't think I'm the most creative person when it comes to character design, but I knew that I wanted to do something cute.
